The investigation is ongoing and has revealed information about a possible suspect vehicle.

Investigators are searching for a dark colored, newer model, higher profile vehicle, possible a truck or SUV.  The suspect vehicle would likely have front end damage and will be missing plastic molding from the front end and undercarriage.

On August 23, 2015 at 2:11 a.m., officers were called to assist West Des Moines EMS, in the 6400 block of Raccoon River Drive, with the report of an unconscious person.  

When officers arrived on scene they found a deceased male lying in the roadway.   

At the direction of the Dallas County Medical Examiner, the deceased was transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny to determine the cause and manner of death.  The investigation and preliminary autopsy results indicate that the victim was struck by a vehicle.

The deceased has been identified as: 

Daulton Holly, 21 years old residing in Troy, Tennessee.
