West Des Moines residents are invited to celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 21, from 10 a.m. to noon, at City Hall.
Families can choose from a variety of free activities, including kids crafts and fishing in the pond. The first 75 families will receive a free butterfly caterpillar. In addition, free tree seedlings will be available to help us increase our tree canopy.
Participants are urged to be on the lookout for special four-legged visitors (Buck, Brownie and Latte: GOATS!) from the conservation grazing project in Southwoods Park.
If the weather doesn’t cooperate, indoor activities will take place in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 4200 Mills Civic Parkway.
