Saturday, June 8, 2024 and Saturday, September 7, 2024 - 8 AM to 12 PM

 

Sometimes residents forget that appliances aren't accepted during Spring Cleanup. If that happened to you, or if you just have scrap appliances and metal to dispose of, bring them to the West Des Moines Public Services East facility located at 560 S. 16th Street from 8:00 AM until Noon on Saturday, June 8, 2024 and Saturday, September 7, 2024.

Not Accepted

These items will NOT be accepted:

  • Anything with food in it
  • Garbage
  • Paint
  • Wood
  • Chemicals
  • Light Bulbs
  • Plastics

TVs and Monitors

  • Televisions and Monitors are accepted AT A COST
  • Cost is $25 per TV/monitor, regardless of size
  • Payment may be made on site, cash or check only. Checks made payable to K3 Recycling

Note: Residents participating in City-provided solid waste collection may dispose of flat screen or tube-style TV's and monitors by putting them at the curb by 6AM on their normal collection day with the appropriate $5 sticker(s). For more information on curbside pickup contact Metro Waste Authority at Computer & Electronic Waste and see under "Curbside Garbage". The TV's/monitors will be landfilled vs. recycled.

TV's and monitors are accepted during Spring Cleanup at no cost, typically held the first week of June on normal collection days.
