All West Des Moines Non-Moving Traffic Violations may be paid three ways:
- Pay quickly and securely online by following this secure link or by scanning the QR Code on the citation you received.
- Pay by mail; send a check or money order, payable to the City of West Des Moines. Please do not mail cash.
- Pay in person at West Des Moines City Hall, 4200 Mills Civic Parkway, weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Payments are accepted at the window to your left directly inside the main doors.
If you wish to contest this ticket you may do so no sooner than 5 calendar days, but no more than 30 calendar days from the date of issuance, by appearing in person at the address listed above and filing a written Notice to Contest. A trial date will then be scheduled before a Magistrate in Polk County. Court costs may be assessed in an amount set by the court.
Vehicles owned by a person who has four or more delinquent parking citations are subject to the Habitual Violation Section of the West Des Moines City Code which provides for the impounding of illegally parked vehicles at the owner’s expense.
