Community Engagement Institute

The 2024 West Des Moines Community Engagement Institute (CEI) is a seven-week program held weekly on Wednesdays from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM. This program will begin on April 10 and end on May 22. The CEI is designed to inform residents about the operation of local government, while informing City leaders about the needs of residents. The CEI is geared towards residents from underrepresented populations, although it is open to all.  This free program connects residents with City leaders so that they can learn about programs and services, tour facilities, and provide officials with feedback on how to improve service delivery.

Dinner is provided at each session. Applications for interested participants will be open from March 11 - March 31, and all applicants will be notified of their acceptance by April 1. Space is limited to 25 participants.

We respect and value the diverse identities of our residents. The demographic information requested is voluntary, and only disclose what you feel comfortable sharing.

Apply for the Community Engagement Institute.
