The City of West Des Moines now provides a confidential way for employees and vendors to report suspicious activity to prevent fraud and ethics violations. By using strong internal controls, like a fraud and ethics hotline, fraud and corruption risk can be mitigated. City of West Des Moines management is committed to reviewing every report and to investigate each actionable case.

The FRAUD & ETHICS HOTLINE can be used to anonymously submit information on potential policy violations, misconduct, fraudulent behavior, or ethical breaches by a city employee or official.

WHY HAVE A HOTLINE?
Corruption & other ethics violations can cause organizational loss that would be detrimental to the City of West Des Moines.

The hotline can be used to anonymously report concerns or suspicions, such as:

  • Unauthorized or inappropriate use of employer's assets
  • Falsification of time & expense reimbursement
  • Accepting inappropriate gifts from vendors
  • Operating a private business during working hours
  • Theft of employer's assets, equipment, or supplies
  • Other ethical breaches
