Professional Learning Community

The Professional Learning Community is a dialogic space designed to give staff a brave space to practice and engage in intercultural communication about social justice issues. Participants will explore topics to deepen their understanding of the various dimensions of culture and identity. Our aim is to assist staff in developing strategies to build their self-awareness and critical consciousness to help promote a more socially just community.

DEI Core Team

 

The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion relaunched the DEI Core Team, a far- reaching committee of staff across all levels of the organization; committed to advancing diversity, supporting inclusive practices, and implementing equitable policies throughout all facets of the organization.  

The goal of the Core Team is to identify and develop inclusive practices to enhance our DEI strategy. Under the leadership of the DEI director, the team will be tasked with examining five critical areas: recruitment, training, policies, programming, and communication.

DiverCity Lunch & Learn 

 

The Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion host a monthly learning series called DiverCity Lunch & Learn. Each session explore a new topic and allows participates to discuss and explore the diverse experiences within our organization and community. The sessions are free to City employees and registration is required.

DEI Roundtable

The DEI Roundtable allows community partners to share best practices, forge collaborative partnerships, and allow for the regular exchange of information. Ultimately, allowing us to better serve our respective communities across a broad range of intersecting needs. We meet monthly, every second Wednesday, at 1:00p. Space is limited.
