Every ambulance in our fleet carries a Pedi-Mate, a reusable pediatric restraint system that buckles onto our cots for the transport of young patients. The Pedi-Mate is meant for patients that weigh 10-40 lbs. The Pedi-Mate restrains the patient to the cot in a fashion very similar to car seats, with a five-point restraint system. The Pedi-Mate secures to the cot with three seat belts, one around the back of the upper part of the cot and two to the main side supports of the cot.
