What is the Citizen's Academy?
The West Des Moines Citizens EMS Academy is a seven-week course that is intended to give individuals an opportunity to understand the policies, procedures, and everyday practices of WDM EMS. The Citizen's EMS Academy is composed of seven 2.5-hour classes over a seven-week period. Participants will have the opportunity to ride with a West Des Moines Ambulance. The Citizen's EMS Academy is structured in a classroom setting with both lecture style education and hands on learning. The class will conclude with a Citizens EMS Academy Graduation.

Fees
$35 per person due at the time of application.

Other Information
Class size is limited to 20 people. Must be over the age of 16. Class participates do not need to be citizens of West Des Moines to participate.
