NEW IN 2024!
We are excited to offer rental reservations for the Southwoods Park Singletrack Course. This is a new 2-way directional course for both hiking and biking only. The Green Loop (.5 miles) is in place, and the Blue Loop will soon connect to the Jordan Creek Trail. Reservations should be made for any tournament or large-group event. Note that the course will be closed for public use during the reservation period.

Course Reservation Policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. There are no refunds for cancellations.
- Changes in event date, time, or location are subject to availability and will result in a $10 change fee.
- Events impacted by inclement weather must contact the Administrative Office at 515-222-3444 for rescheduling options within three business days of the event.
- Changes due to inclement weather will still result in a $10 change fee.
- Rescheduled dates must occur within the current calendar year.
- Rental time includes set-up, event, and clean-up.
- Beer, wine, and canned cocktails are allowed in cans only, not to exceed 16oz. No glass bottled beverages or kegs are allowed.
- Use of tobacco products is prohibited on all park property.
- Additional permits are needed for amplified sound (DJ, band, karaoke, etc.) or tent/inflatable (bounce house, etc.). The Amplified Sound Permit must meet the guidelines and requirements for Special Events. Contact the Administrative Office at 515-222-3444 for more information.
- The Department reserves the right to consider certain events to be Special Events, which may require a permit(s) in addition to the course reservation.
*Any reservation that involves admission being charged, product being sold, or requires an amplified sound will automatically be considered a Special Event. - A reservation only reserves facility space. The City does not provide recreational equipment.
- No equipment will be allowed to remain on park property outside rental time.
- The Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to close the facilities to allow for proper maintenance at any time during the season. If maintenance by the Department requires that previously made reservations be canceled, reservation fees will be refunded to the renter.
- The Department reserves the right to assess additional post-rental charges to the renter for excessive wear and tear of the facilities, parking lot, existing equipment, or other City property, or use of facilities (trash and portable toilets) that results in above normal maintenance, services, or repair.
- Parks & Recreation staff will post the reservation sheet at the bulletin board near the entrance of the course for the current day by 6:30 a.m.
- Subject to availability, walk-up patrons are welcome on a first-come, first served basis.
- The Course Rental Agreement serves as proof of your rental and event details. Please have it available during your rental.
