Wednesdays - We will meet at 6 pm at Jordan Creek Mall on the northwest corner of the parking lot, near EP True and South Jordan Creek Parkway. Please see the photo on the left for where to park and meet. This is an 8k loop, which can be viewed using the Strava link below.

Saturdays - We will meet at 7 am in the west parking lot of City Hall. Please refer to the photo on the right for the meeting location. We will be running an 8k, but since it is an out-and-back route, you may turn back early for a shorter distance. The route can be viewed using the Strava link below.
All of our routes and meeting times can be found as events on our Strava page, which is free to join. You can use it to track your runs and stay on course.

ABOUT US
WDMRC is the first of its kind to come to West Des Moines. Our club is dedicated to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle while building a strong sense of community among runners. WDMRC offers weekly group runs that showcase the great trails in and around West Des Moines. In addition to these weekly group runs, there will be opportunities to participate in special events throughout the year. This will include races, restaurant runs, and track workouts, and much more. We encourage runners of all ages, abilities, and levels of experience to feel the joy of running the trails of West Des Moines.
MISSION STATEMENT
At We Do More Run Club, our name signifies a commitment to go beyond the ordinary, embracing a philosophy that extends beyond running. Rooted in the City of West Des Moines, our mission is to create an environment where runners of all levels come together to achieve more – not in comparison to others, but in pursuit of personal growth, camaraderie, and a deeper connection with our community.
We believe that adding this run club with allow us to fulfill the West Des Moines Parks and Recreation mission statement that states: We provide our community everyday enjoyment through people, parks, and programs. At WDMRC, we strive to foster a friendly and inclusive environment where runners of all skill levels can come together, support one another, and achieve fitness goals as a unified team. Our mission is to create a space that celebrates diversity, encourages personal growth, and promotes the love of running to enhance both physical and mental health.
CLUB BENEFITS
- Scenic Trails: Each season there will be new routes to explore around the city. There is no better way to get around!
- Tight Knit Community: There is nothing that brings people together like pushing through adversity as a community. WDMRC is a space for individuals to have fun while supporting each other every step of the way.
- All Ages and Abilities Welcome: WDMRC is a place where everyone is welcome. There are no limitations when it comes to age or abilities. Whether it’s your first run, or you’re a seasoned marathoner, you are encouraged to join us!
- Special Events: As the club grows, there will be chances to participate in special events. These include races, charity runs, restaurant runs, track workouts, and more!
- Discounts and Deals: WDMRC will work to partner with local businesses and provide members discounts and deals. In turn, this will encourage members to support local businesses and the community.
CLUB RULES & EXPECTATIONS
- Respect and Inclusivity: The Club values diversity and inclusivity. Treat all members, volunteers, and participants with respect, regardless of their age, race, gender, or ability.
- Safety First: Prioritize safety during all runs. Follow traffic rules, yield to pedestrians, and wear reflective gear during evening runs. Stay hydrated and be aware of your own physical limits.
- Obey Local Laws: Adhere to all local laws and regulations while participating in Club activities, including obeying traffic signals and following designated trail rules.
- Code of Conduct: Maintain a positive and sportsmanlike demeanor during Club events. Do not engage in any behavior that may endanger yourself or others, including aggressive or disruptive conduct.
- Equipment and Attire: Wear appropriate running attire and footwear during Club runs. Dress according to weather conditions and ensure your clothing does not obstruct your visibility.
- No Littering: Respect the environment and the community by disposing of trash properly. Do not litter on the trails or any public areas.
- Stay Informed: Keep yourself informed about the details of each run, including the route, distance, and meetup time. All of which will be included in emails and on the WDMRC webpage.
- Attendance: While regular attendance is encouraged, we understand that schedules may vary. Participate as often as you can without feeling obligated.
- Medical Conditions: Carry any necessary medications or devices with you.
- Photography and Social Media: Photography is permitted during runs, but always ask for permission before taking photos of other participants. When sharing on social media, use appropriate hashtags and respect individual preferences.
- Minors: Participants under the age of 18 must have parental/guardian consent to join the Club. Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring their safety during runs.
- Adherence to Policies: Failure to comply with these rules and regulations, along with any additional policies stated on the West Des Moines Parks & Recreation website (www.wdm.iowa.gov/parksandrec), may result in a member’s removal from the Club.
