File an Online Police Report

To use the online system for filing a report, all of the following must be true:

  • The incident you are reporting is not an emergency
  • The incident is not a crime in progress
  • No one was injured as a result of the incident you are reporting
  • The incident occurred within the City of West Des Moines
  • The incident is not a vehicle accident or a hit and run accident
  • There is no evidence or fingerprints for the police to collect
  • The incident is not a hate or bias crime. (A hate or bias crime is an act that appears to be motivated or is perceived by the victim to be motivated all or in part by race, color, religious beliefs, national origin, ethnic background, sexual orientation or disability).

If all of the above statements are true, you may file an online report. If not, call 911 for emergencies or (515) 222-3321 to make a non-emergency report.

When you file the report, a representative will contact you within one day during normal business hours Monday through Friday.
