Tree Maintenance

Early Spring and late Fall are ideal times to perform maintenance on trees and shrubs. Homeowners are responsible for maintenance of trees and shrubs that are located within private property that encroach on public right of way. To prevent potentially hazardous situations the minimum vertical clearance of trees and shrubs must be eight feet (8’) between the surface of the sidewalk or pedestrian way and the lowest branch. Additionally, the minimum vertical clearance of trees and shrubs shall be fourteen feet (14’) between the surface of the street and the lowest branch. Brush Removal

Yard waste is collected the same day as your trash. All Items must be placed curbside. Yard Waste must be bagged using a Metro Waste Authority Compost-It Bag or a brown kraft paper yard waste baCompost It! bags and brushg with a Metro Waste Authority Compost-It sticker attached. MWA Bags and stickers are available at local grocery stores. Bundles must be cut to 4' lengths, bound with rope, twine or string in 18" diameter and should weigh no more than 40 lbs.
